Inspire them to speak with confidence

iSpeak is a  programme for young adolescents, drawn from underprivileged communities, that seeks to inspire them to speak with confidence, and articulate themselves with grace, to enable them to become holistic members of society. It seeks to achieve this objective by providing practical communication skills and mentorship opportunities for participants.

The iSpeak programme is anchored on the premise that empowering the young people to speak with confidence, provides them an express opportunity to transform their circumstances. It is by communicating powerfully that they: have the confidence to ace interviews both academic and entrepreneurial; get the much needed scholarships through confident presentation; attract the attention of investors to fund their inventions; be articulate at marketing their creations and discoveries; promote their inherent gifts and talents; and most importantly speak up against injustice both personal and on behalf of the voiceless. These objectives provide compelling reasons to teach children how to speak with confidence to emancipate themselves; and are the foundational basis on which the iSpeak programme runs.

The programme is designed to include both communication classes where students acquire knowledge on how to speak with confidence, as well as mentorship talks to provide the students guidance and advice on how to handle emerging issues affecting young people.
